Amazing data on a country where we have an ongoing project, member of the G20 and ranking 5th in the World with 63.9 billion dollars in military spending in 2018, just behind Russia, but still far behind the US whose budget is almost 10 times higher.
It is also one of the largest recipients of foreign aid (both multi and bilateral), ranking 11th, between Nigeria and Mozambique, with 3.1 billion dollars in 2017 according to the World Bank. Which would not seem absurd in terms of the country's ranking in terms of human development: 130 out of 190.
Too little people in India seem to question the budget allocation apparently. Indeed, projections of the outcome of the current parliamentary elections in the world's largest democracy indicate that the current coalition, dominated by the BJP, the Hindu nationalist party, will be renewed.
